So Who Is This Liam Guy?

I began my professional career at 16, nearly a decade ago now, writing for music publications so I was across every single all-ages concerts in Sydney. This evolved into a passion for writing and journalism.

After completing a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) at UTS I had a whirl at editing for publications like Pilerats alongside freelancing for Vice & Junkee. I then leapt headfirst into the music industry, booking weekly shows at The World Bar. I eventually became the Marketing Manager and learnt a lot in the process.

At this point, I also picked up handling artist bookings for The Watsons Bay Hotel [part of The Sydney Collective] for NYE/NYD, which I've done now for three years and sold out every year with artists like KLP, Client Liaison & Touch Sensitive. Thinking I had more time than humanely possible, I also started running the digital strategy for imbi and one of my proudest moments was selling out their debut EP tour across the east coast of Australia.

After finishing up at The World Bar, I freelanced for Future Classic as an A&R Scout, alongside social media management for venues like The Lansdowne & Harpoon Harry's.

I was then approached by TMRW Music to work as their Marketing Manager for Club & Events where I oversaw sold-out events for artists like Claptone, Patrick Topping and handling the marketing for the iconic Chinese Laundry (ranked #78 in DJ Mag's top 100 clubs).

After finishing up with TMRW Music, I returned to The Sydney Collective where I'm now working at The Imperial Hotel Sydney, the home of drag, where stars like Rita Ora, Natalie Portman and more dine when they're looking to go out.

And I've got a lot more planned. I also make playlists all the time so if you're wondering what I'm listening to click here
